the full circle story on our song THE FARAWAY HORSES, in pictures:) me n Sam meet our now RC sista Patti Hall via an email, she happened to have recorded on of our songs during one of her trips to Nashvegas...she emailed me to get publishing info. on our tune, i checked out her website, saw her next to a horse sculpture on her CD cover & the rest is history, we were instant cowgirl sistas!:) we chatted a few times, she asked me if i knew who Buck Brannaman was as she had ridden with him several times out West & they were pards...i KNEW who he was & had been hoping someday to get to ride with him...Patti suggested i check out his book, TFH, thought i might get some song inspiration from it;) not only did that happen a few times over now, Patti also came to visit us shortly after we met over the phone, she GIFTED me a BB clinic in Lex, KY! she rode our boy Beau, i rode our girl Jane & we BORROWED a rig from our dear pard Roger, LOTS of God Stuff goin' on!!O:) by the time we went to the clinic, i had finished our Faraway Horses song & Patti suggested i sing it for Buck at the clinic...i was scared to death as i didn't know the man & here i was, i'd written a song about him, not knowing him, never having met him, really nerve racking! in fact the only way i could feel right about writing it was to bring me & my experience as an artist & horsewoman into it...well, bless sweet Buck's heart, he couldn't have been kinder, he settled my nerves & i sang the song for him right outside his trailer one afternoon at the clinic & yep, he gave me the thumbs UP!:) we recorded this worktape guitar/vocal shortly after we got back from the clinic & my goal is to record it more fully produced on a new album soon...i'll keep y'all posted:) me n my man Sam n our RC sista Patti Hall:)
